Cam position sensor code Empty Cam position sensor code

Hello, think this is my first post here.
Currently drive an AQN 170 and for the longest time I had the check engine light on caused by the cam pos sensors. Car doesn't feel like 100% powerwise.
Just wondering if someone solved it without replacing the timing chain.
First thing that I did was replace the sensors. No luck.
I've heard about the chain stretching problem that haunts the VW chains.
Anyone else had this problem?

*forgot to mention car has 113k miles.

I think you will need to replace the chain.

Let me know how you get on as i believe its a gearbox off job.

(I need to do mine.)
