Welshv5er's V5
Had the V5 since May 2003. Its a W reg 150BHP, bought it with just 14,000 miles on clock
Was after an 1.8T, but i couldn't resist the noise
Had to wait a couple of years for vw warranty to run out, soon as it did had fitted a full Milltek Exhaust
It needed an alloy change at same time, found a set of BBS RS2's off a TT.
as it looks now with 79,000 miles.
Had to take the Monty alloys off this morning.
there not holding pressure anymore, so while a way getting redone, the TT alloys are back on.
Plans for the future..
Just to look after it really

Not been a good week for the V5..
Started running on 4 cylinders on Monday, turned out to be a duff plug lead.
Then too top it off, got covered in Sand

Ah yeah, the dreaded sand. I jet washed mine off then overnight the heavens deposited some more. All clean now.

Re: Welshv5er's V5
Well had a couple of free days, so treated the V5 to a machine polishing
Gave it a good clay barring 1st, lifted quite a bit of tar off it !
Then hit it with the polisher ( Megs G220 ) with sonus pads and menzerna polish
The final results
Just needs a few more coats of DoDo juice blue velvet wax, Job Done

Re: Welshv5er's V5
Little update on V5..
Front wishbones have been poly bushed, well worth doing
2 x new rear calipers, usual MK4 problem.. And had the sump whipped off, cleaned out & oil pickup cleaned too.
Plus added a new sticker.

Re: Welshv5er's V5
Not updated for a while. Shame on me
TBH the V5 has hardly moved last few months. Had to take it the garage other day, thermostat housing started to leak. Had it serviced the same time.
Winters here now, so its getting tucked up again in garage till spring. Might go for a colour change with the wheels over next few months. Thinking about going BBS Gold.
