Workshop manual advice
Hi,
I've got the Golf Mk4 Haynes manual but as it does not cover the V5 engine, can anyone point me at a workshop manual or a download that will help with V5 engine maintenance?
Many thanks in advance,
Dobbs.

Hi Dobbs,
I have just emailed you the V5 Workshop Manual in PDF format.
I hope that helps you out. It has helped me solve a few issue in regards to identifying things.
thanks

Is this for the 170? This would be really useful! Could you email it to me too please?

Re: Workshop manual advice
It's the Workshop Manual for Golf 1998, Bora 1999, Engine code AGZ, Edition 10.97.
So it's only for the 150. Do you want it anyway? Can email it across. Let me know.

Re: Workshop manual advice
Thanks mate, I know there are other good sites available for Golf and Mk4 and there is already a V5 forum out there but the plan was to rejuvenate interest in the V5 in regards to supercharging and turbo kits which are now available more freely. I think it is time for the V5 to take centre stage for a while. I have sent you an email with the manual attached, not sure if it's the whole manual but maybe help you a bit.

Re: Workshop manual advice

Re: Workshop manual advice
You are looking at £3-£4k gulp but you can probably source a lot of the parts yourself to save costs. If you look in the Turbo and Supercharger Forums you will see details appear. I have only added Carlicious in there at the moment who do both turbo and supercharger kits. SC kits are +50bhp, +90bhp, +120bhp although can vary depending on other mods you have. Speak to Inzor and see his thread as he has already done the Stage 2 +90 kit. DNA-Tuning can do your remaps and is part of the package. I am looking to do a custom build myself and have already approached a few companies directly to see if they have individual items off the shelf cheaper and also any refurbished parts. A stage 1 and 2 you will not need to do much other than move a few things around again speak to Inzor. A Stage 3 requires cooling. Some might say that £3-£4k isn't worth it and you should instead sell your V5 and buy an R32 or a VR6 and turbo it as it's easier and cheaper but then where is the fun in that. I think it's best to post a message in one of the turbo of supercharger forums to continue this conversation though, cheers.

V5 Golf Workshop Manual Request
Could I request a copy of the V5 workshop manual too please? I have an unusual electrical fault (open circuit on cylinder 2) that isn't coil pack, spark plug, or injector related. Any advice in advance would be amazing. Have spent 3 weekends on it already and now stumped. Manual may help to work my way back from the front end.
Many thanks in advance.
Jason

Re: Workshop manual advice
I too would be grateful for a copy of the workshop manual for the V5 150BHP model. I've just purchased one and it requires a few odd jobs (windows not motoring, tracking rods replacing) and this would be a great reference document for me.
Thanks in advance, James.

Ho,
This manual might have answers to a lot of problems I am facing right now... Would need tightening torques for main and con-rod bearings...
Thanks in advance!

work shop manual
Hi all,
I've been looking online for a manual for the vr5 engine and came across your thread.
I have just bought a 2000 vr5 passat 2.3lt, i know its not a golf but still I hope you can help.
the head gasket has blown so now I'm in the process of taking the head off and I need some info on setting timing and removing the timing chain so when I get the head looked at or a new 1 have some idea on putting it back right.
it is a AGZ type.
thankful for any help
