Guide: Coolant Pump Empty Guide: Coolant Pump

Okay I went ahead and changed the coolant pump by following various guides relating to the VR6 engine. Its really simple actually and I can confirm you DO NOT need too mess about jacking up the engine.

1: Before removing the aux belt start by cracking loose the three 6mm allen bolts that hold the coolant pump pulley

2: Now de-tension the tensioner and remove the aux belt and coolant pulley

3: Crack loose the three M6 spline bolts that hold the pump to the engine block (I put this step before draining coolant just so you know if you can successfuly remove the bolts without any problems, before draining coolant)

4: Now drain the coolant by removing the clip and hose from the radiator on the passenger side

5: Remove the old pump, there is plenty of room to do this and no need to lift the engine, see!

6: Fit new pump and pulley, re-fill coolant, re-fit belt and re-tension.

Done.
